After finding out that Grandbaby #2 was coming, I was counting down the days until we knew if it was a girl or boy.
My daughter in law decided to go to Peek a Boo baby a little early to find out the sex of the baby. She made it very special, by surprising herself, and the family. After receiving the results from the ultrasound, she had the nurse write it down and put it in an envelope. Then she took the envelope and had her friend bake the correct color cake. After a family dinner, we would cut the cake.
Isn't the cake just perfect?!?
We ate our dinner quickly and finally cut the cake! Of course Brent wanted a boy and Rubigo and Millie were hoping for a girl. We all waited with bated breath....
It's a girl!!!
Or is it?
The story continues.....
I was having a grand time buying matching outfits. Sisters....how special is that! A few weeks later Rubigo went to a scheduled appointment and the doctor did a ultrasound.
After the doctors appointment, the kids met us for lunch. I was chatting with Millie and I told her what an awesome sister she was going to be!! With disgust she preceded to tell me, it's not a sister, but a brother. She spilled the beans!! Lol Quite to our surprise the nurse announced that it was a BOY at their ultrasound. What?!? Yup!! It wasn't a girl....but a boy!
Now that we are over our shock, we are very excited to add another boy to the many boys already in The Kendrick Clan! Lol, And yes, I had to make many returns, but I was able to find matching outfits for a sister and baby brother. :o)
Gina, a fellow blogger, was sending cards to Operation Write Home. I love being a part of such an awesome program! This time we made cards for the heroes to send home to their families with the theme "Missing You." I wanted to make them unique and extra special. Here is what I made:
