It is a Girl....Or is it?

After finding out that Grandbaby #2 was coming, I was counting down the days until we knew if it was a girl or boy.

My daughter in law decided to go to Peek a Boo baby a little early to find out the sex of the baby.  She made it very special, by surprising herself, and the family.  After receiving the results from the ultrasound, she had the nurse write it down and put it in an envelope.  Then she took the envelope and had her friend bake the correct color cake.  After a family dinner, we would cut the cake.

Isn't the cake just perfect?!?

We ate our dinner quickly and finally cut the cake!  Of course Brent wanted a boy and Rubigo and Millie were hoping for a girl.  We all waited with bated breath....

It's a girl!!!

Or is it?
The story continues.....

I was  having a grand time buying matching outfits.  Sisters....how special is that!  A few weeks later Rubigo went to a scheduled appointment and the doctor did a ultrasound.

After the doctors appointment,  the kids met us for lunch. I was chatting with Millie and  I told her  what an awesome sister she was going to be!! With disgust she preceded to tell me, it's not a sister, but a brother.  She spilled the beans!! Lol Quite to our surprise the nurse announced that it was a BOY at their ultrasound.  What?!? Yup!! It wasn't a girl....but a boy!

Now that we are over our shock, we are very excited to add another boy to the many boys already in The Kendrick Clan!  Lol, And yes, I had to make many returns, but I was able to find matching outfits for a sister and baby brother. :o)

Operation Write Home #2

Gina, a fellow blogger, was sending  cards to Operation Write Home.  I love being a part of such an awesome program!  This time we made cards for the heroes to send home to their families with the theme "Missing You."   I wanted to make them unique and extra special.  Here is what I made:

I love the colors of this card.  I was inspired by my new ink pads I just got.
I tried a ombré effect on the sentiment.

•white card base
•Stampin' Up ink:
  Strawberry Slush
  Crisp Cantaloupe
  Coastal Cabana
•Heidi Swap:
•Studio G Clear Stamp Missing You
7 Gypsies Par Avion: Arrow Stamp
•Washi Tape:
  We R Memory Keepers
•Marvy Metallic Pen

This card was fun to make!!  I was hoping for a fun, summer type card.

•Paper: American Crafts
6 x 6 Color Crush
•Sentiment: Hero Arts-
Operation Write Home Set
•Bike: Stampin' Up
Fun in the Sun (retired)
•Heidi Swap Brown Ink Pad
•balloons: Cut from Cricket
•string: stash

I love to emboss and I made sure I did on in this card! I love how the tree stamp looks almost transparent with the clear embossing.

•Paper: DCWV The Juniper Berry Stack
•Recollection Kraft cardstock
•Ink: Stampin' Up Brocade Blue
•Sentiment: Hero Arts-Operation Write Home (embossed with clear)
•Tree Stamp:
Stampin' Up Serene Silhouettes

I hope the heroes enjoy the cards.  They deserve to have the best!!

Until next time....

Oceanside Beach

I sit here remembering our recent trip to the San Diego area.  I am longing for the cool ocean breeze as most of California is sizzling.

I never get tired of the beautiful Southern California coastline.  The view is spectacular from the pier.

It is always fun to watch the surfers...

Miss Priss trying to be brave and look at the ocean with her Poppy.

Quite a dashing character this bird was!

Beautiful end to a beautiful day!
