Journaling Bible | I Thessalonians 5:18

Even in tough and hurtful times.....even when you are disappointed....even when  someone has treated you badly......for it is easy to be thankful in the good times, but it is God's will that we be thankful and give praise ALL the time.

Journaling Bible | Walking in the Spirit

My Pastor taught an amazing lesson on Walking in the Spirit.  I couldn't wait to journal it into my Bible.  This is the first time I have journaled notes and not a particular scripture.  This lesson was so awesome, I didn't want to forget it, but I also wanted whoever picks up this bible to be able to glean from this lesson.

The basis of his lesson was from Romans 8:

I do want to be victorious in Christ Jesus.  I plan on walking in the spirit!

December Daily | Day 5-9

Week 2 December Daily Challenge:

1. Use two transparent items
2. Stamp or Journal on that page
3. No photo necessary

I am really enjoying documenting December.  I love the Christmas season and all of the daily fun that goes with it!

Here are the next few pages that I have done:

One part of the challenge was journaling.  I try to journal everyday.

For the challenge I made a shaker card with a tree overlay from the December Project Life Kit from Stampin' Up.  I really like the colors of this set!

Here is a closer look at the shaker card....

My second transparent piece was a clear button from my stash.

I am really enjoying being a part of this December Daily group.  It really helps me to stay focused and get my pages done.  I would love to see yours! Please comment and share a link!

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Christmas Decorations 2014

I anticipate this season all year! I LOVE Christmas time and all of the family gatherings that go along with it.  If you have followed my blog anytime, you know that I love to decorate for Christmas.  After not decorating last year, I was ready to get started. (see why here)

This year I didn't change my color theme, but I did move a few things around and added some new items.  Enjoy Christmas Decorations 2014 tour.....

This is my seasonal table.  All year long, this is decorated for every holiday or season.  The JOY set   I made a few years back. (see here)  The ornament on a stand was from the Christmas Dollar Tree post. (see here)  The owl and countdown sign was from a gift exchange a few years back.  (see here)  And the Let it Snow was a gift from mother in law.  Love it!

Here is a nice view of my banister.  It is the hardest banister I have ever had to decorate.  So not to ruin the wood, I have ribbon carefully tacked to hold it up.  Thankfully it stays the whole season.

This is another Christmas vignette that I have.  This is the most popular table in the house.  It has the candy jar.  I promise! I have to fill this jar up every other day!

This is my most decorated area in my home.  It is the first place you see when you walk into my home.

I still love my faux fireplace! (see here) I have so much fun decorating this.  I am very thankful that a friend took my idea and built it.  You just have a mantle for Christmas, right? ;-)

A lot of the items here were from Kirkland's and Joanne's.  I did make the Christmas deco mesh wreath.  ( see here)

My dining area.....   The banner is from Kirkland's and candle centerpiece is from Homegoods.

The city has been a long tradition in our home.  The last few years I hadn't set it up because I didn't feel like I had room for it.  My youngest really missed it and found a solution this year.  He set it all up for me.

This is my hutch....just a few item to make it festive.

And this is a conversation piece......I bought this at Kirkland's.  Thought it was too funny!  I know you can't see it....but it ends with, Peace on Earth!

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas Decoration Tour of 2014. I know some are thinking, that is too much work, or some may be saying that it isn't fancy enough.  You make your home uniquely you.  What you do in your home is your tradition and even if it is a few decorations, that is Christmas to me.  Merry Christmas and see you again soon!

Christmas Deco Mesh Wreath 2014

With just a few items from your local craft store, you can quickly put together a fast and easy deco mesh wreath.  I was able to complete this wreath in around 30 minutes.  I love how this turned out.  It is not your traditional colors, but Christmas is what colors you want it to be.  Be bold and courageous with your decorating. ;-)

Watch the wreath making here!

Here is what you need:

  • A Pine Wreath
  • deco mesh of choice
  • ribbon of choice
  • assortment of embellishments; like small ornaments and glittery stems
  • glue gun

I like working with a pine wreath because it makes securing the deco mesh and ribbon easier.  Get all of your supplies together, and within reach, and in no time you will have a beautiful wreath to hang in your home.

Have you made a deco mesh wreath before? I would love to see wreath's that you have made.
Have a wonderful week! Take care!!

Journaling Bible | Acts 20:35

I walked into class at the gym and the instructor was telling us how someone in front of her "paid it forward" at Starbucks drive thru.  I have heard o f that, and it has never happened to me yet, but I want to be the one to do it.  This day I purposed it in my heart that I was going to "pay it forward".   I didn't make it to Starbucks, but at the car wash I gave the car wash attendant a $5 Starbucks gift card.   I made sure she knew how much I appreciated her hard work and to buy a Starbuck's on me. With this on my mind the next day, I journaled Christ's words about giving.

Lord, you are right.  It is more blessed to give than to receive.  And I am so thankful that I am in a position that I can give.  It hasn't always been that way, but God is so good, and I am so thankful for his many blessings!  Now go "pay it forward"!

December Daily 2014 | Day 1 - 4

My December Daily 2014 is coming together nicely.  Last night I finished the front cover and could finally prepare to share.

For my December Daily I wanted to do a separate album from my Project Life.  I typically do a small album for all of my Christmas cards, so this year, I will add the cards to the end of my album.

Simple Stories Snap Burlap Binder 6x8 Chevron Red

Here is the front cover.  I love how it turned out!

 Items I used:

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am going to be sharing my December Daily with a group of ladies that is going the same.  The first week we had a challenge to create using certain methods or items.  Here is what I came up with.

  2. A page that represents you
  3. DIY make it merry
  4. Say it with bling
  5. Deck the halls
  6. Anything goes...
  7. Candles

 Front Page:

 Used bling and created myself!

 Day 1:

The  4 x 6 was created by me and used bling.

Day  2:

Day 3:

Here we are Decking the Halls

Day 4:

Here we are decking the halls also!

I am having a great time using all of my DD gift items and supplies that I already had.  This my favorite season and I am really enjoying taking the time to document each day! If you are doing a December Daily, I would love to see it!!

Journaling Bible | Proverbs 15:1

Today I journaled a scripture that I love out of Proverbs.   When dealing with people, and possibly if you are married, this scripture will remind you to be kind. :-)

How is December going for you?  Are you ready for the holidays?  I am staying a step behind it seems, but I am determined to enjoy it as long as I can!!

Thank  you for stopping by and have a great day!

I am so thankful for the revelation of the oneness of God!!
Have a blessed day!

Journaling Bible : Jeremiah 29:11

When I first started journaling, it was so hard for me because I didn't want to mess the bible up.  I still won't journal over the scriptures at all. You will notice as this series continues, my style with change, and the pages will flow better.

Today I journaled one of my favorite scriptures......

If you search bible journaling, there are some very creative artists.  As I mentioned before, I lack in the artist area.  Make your bible you!  As much as I love the beautiful pages that are creative by others, it is not in my capabilities.  But I can scrapbook and I love to make things pretty.

Thank you for stopping by!! Have a blessed day!

December Daily : It is a Rainy Day!

Hello December!  I can't believe you are already here!  Before we know it we will be saying....2015! That's another topic and I will save that for another time.

I just finished 30 days of Thankful and I am now I am prepping to do December Daily with a sweet group of ladies.  In November we did an December Daily gift exchange.  I really got some great stuff to add to my album.  It was very exciting!!

Through the month of December I will be doing some prompts for the group and sharing them.  And at the end of the month I should have a beautiful December Daily album.

Today it is a rainy day in California.  Perfect day to get out my Christmas decorations and craft!

What are doing today?  Will you be doing a December Daily album? I would love to know!!
See you next time!!

Journaling Bible : Psalm 39:7

Just recently I posted on the blog about "hope".  During this time I journaled in my bible about this very topic.  He is our hope and I am so thankful!

I heard many people say that I can't do a journaling bible, for I am not creative.  You don't have to be a artist, or even writer.  Journaling in your bible is a reflection of you and your heart.   You just use the skills that God gave you.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Journaling Bible : Acts 2:38

I am getting sentimental in my old age and I am always looking for ways to leave my legacy behind to my children.  Something that is very precious to me is my faith and the word of God.  In my husband's family, it was very precious, when all of the kids got one of my late father in law's bible.  I know I want to do the same for my children.

Just recently I came across Shanna Noel's blog and she was sharing her journaling  bible.  It was a little bit of scrapbooking, some art, and lots of journaling your thoughts.   I knew that this would be perfect for me.  A different and unique gift that I could leave to my children, and with a method I love, scrapbooking.

This is the bible I purchased..  It has a beautiful leather cover.  I am very happy with it.

Through the past few weeks I have been going through my journaling bible and journaling my favorite scriptures or scriptures that reflect my thoughts for the day.   For the next few weeks  I will be sharing my pages....sharing my new love of studying and a precious gift I am creating for my kids

Here is my first page I journaled:

As an apostolic, this scripture is one of our favorites.  We live it and teach it!

I would love to know if you have a journaling bible or maybe received one as a gift.  Please share it!!  Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

30 Days of Thankful Day 1-14

November brings Thanksgiving and a time of thankfulness.  This year I participated with a group of ladies to do "30 Days of Thankfulness."  Some did 12 x 12 scrapbook pages and others did small albums.  I chose to supplement my pages into my Project Life.

Today I will be showing Day 1-14.   Each day you pick something or someone you are thankful for.  That was the easy part! It was what order that was the hardest. :-)

I used the kit Sweater Weather from Simple Stories.  It has beautiful fall colors and cards inserts that matched my thankful theme perfectly.  I also accented with gold foil and glitter paper.

I have so many things to be thankful for.  It was really hard to pick one thing a day. And using Project Life inserts, I was able to get a lot more pictures per page.  I am really happy with that.
Look for the next few days soon!

Baby Girl Binder Ring Mini Album

Recently I have found a fondness for mini albums. I love how you can personalize and make them so unique to you.   This is my second mini album, but my first with binder rings.

This mini album was personalized for a new baby.......

Pretty ribbon and a mini album charm added a girly touch......

Each page had pre-cut mats for 4 x 6 pictures.....

The pages will spell out "BABY" by the end......

I also put flip up pages so that more pictures could be added.....

 Cute polka dots......

Making a mini album is a perfect gift for any occasion!

See the mini album up close!
