Modestly Dressed for Skiing

My family loves to be outdoors. Whether it be softball, hiking, camping, hunting, or skiing. Just because I dress modestly in a skirt, doesn't mean that it stops me from doing what I love to do. It is just a way of life for me.

Just recently, a group of us went skiing. We had a blast!!
In a skirt?!?
Yes, we did.  We wear skirts made out of water resistant material.  It offers just as much protection as ski pants.
But what if you fall?!?
Believe me, we try not to.  But if we do, our skirts are long enough.  And also we wear tights to cover our legs.
Aren't you cold?
I wear tights and I am just fine.  If I know it is going to be really cold, I may bring an extra pair of tights for more warmth.  You can even find fleece lined tights.
Where do you get your skirts?
We mostly make our skirts and I also have converted water resistant pants or ski pants into a skirt.
Don't people stare at you?
There are some that look at us strange, but we get more compliments for our skirts.  Some compliment us on how we look like ladies, or others wanting to try it because it looks nice.

If you choose a modest dress lifestyle, you can have fun outdoors, and still be stylish!

  2. This is fantastic!!! And such an inspiration for us all! This is proof it CAN be done and look awesome while doing it.

I also wanted to let you know that your blog link over at my place comes up as "...nommy" instead of "...nonny". I personally don't care which one it is as long as I can get here easy enough which is not happening with "nommy." :-)

  6. I was just thinking about this option, mostly becuase my 13 year old daughter was asking if we could get some or make some. This was as she was grudgingly donning her snowpants. She says they feel weird and no wonder when she wears skirts all the rest of the time.
