Fabulous Faux Fireplace with Mantle

What do you do when you have a personality that borders on OCD? ( :o) My poooooor husband)  When I see something in my mind, that is the way it has to be.  When I found out that we were moving into a new home, right before the holidays, and it didn't have a fireplace. I was really bummed!  {sigh} No mantle?!? But I love decorating my mantle during the holidays.  It is my focal point in my home.  But, because I have OCD a quirky personality, I got to thinking.  What can I do?

Well I could do a Electric Fireplace....

The size I wanted was tooooo expensive.

So....Google to the rescue. What do do when you don't have a fireplace mantle.  An option is a faux fireplace.  We enlisted the help of a fabulous carpenter. (A great friend)  Told him what I wanted and this is what he came up with.....

I wanted something that could be moved with us. This mantle is in four pieces. It will be secured to the wall, but can be moved at anytime.

I LOVE how it turned out.  Our friend went above and beyond what we were looking for.  The details are gorgeous and adds such elegance to my living room.  And it was a portion of the price of an electric fireplace.

Happy Holidays!
